Boy, keeping a blog site is much more work than I thought. We have all been very busy here and are very tired. Adam breezed through his chemo and radiation. Dr. Murphy at UCSD said he was off the charts, experiencing few side effects and little disruption of his normal activities (except driving). Adam had very little hair loss (about a two inch diameter just above his right ear and this did not occur until about 5 weeks into treatment), a little nausea and he goes to bed at 10 pm now instead of 1 am. I am thrilled with this earlier bed time, as many of you know, I am not a night owl. Adam only missed one day of work (this was due to Mac bringing home the flu from camp and not directly related to treatment) and still works out a couple of times a week. July 12th was his last day of his initial round of chemo and radiation and we celebrated with a giant cookie and by sleeping-in the next morning! We go to see Dr. Cloughesy at UCLA on Monday the 24th and Adam will have an MRI that day. This will be our first real look at how things are going. Bill and I are looking at clinical trials right now so we can discuss this with Dr. Cloughesy. I will update the blog next Monday. Thanks for all of your support.
